Working in partnership with the Wye Valley AONB, we’ve been trialling conservation grazing with cattle at Cleddon Bog, near Trellech. The cattle are there to help keep the encroaching woodland growth down, as this would result in significant drying out of this important habitat and carbon store. The cattle are being checked daily by a team of local volunteers, who we have trained up with a LANTRA qualification in Livestock Checking, delivered by the Rare Breeds Survival Trust.
